Polish premiere of Nightwatching took place October, 13th at the Cinema Kijow, Cracow. The director Peter Greenaway was present as well as Polish actors who featured in the movie: Agata Buzek, Maciej Zakoscielny, Andrzej Seweryn & Krzysztof Pieczynski. One of the Polish co-producers is Gremi Film Production

- It’s our third film. I hope that every year we will make one international co-production and that the premiere will always take place here in Cracow – said Grzegorz Hajdarowicz during the ceremony, the president of Gremi Film Production and organizer of Cracow event. Afterwards Peter Greenaway was given the Open 2007 Award, which Grzegorz Hajdarowicz brought for him from Venice Film Festival.

The director announced to the numerous audience gathered in cinema Kijow that are the first in the world who are to see ‘Nightwatching’ in the theatrical distribution. Apart from the film festivals ‘Nightwatching’ hasn’t been screened in cinemas.
Later in the evening Peter Greenaway said to the Cracow citizens who came to Plac Wszystkich Swietych to see his VJ show, that ‘cinema has died’. He tried to convince, that now is the era of live cinema. During 50 minutes on three gigantic screens Peter Greenaway entertained 2000 Cracovians with film and music mixed alive. He was assisted by DJ Radar from Amsterdam.
