After the revelation news that Andy Garcia was in prison due to City Island, we are happy to let you know, that first week of shooting of new co-production by Gremi Film Production has been luckily finished last Friday!

First week of shooting CITY ISLAND got luckily finished!

Principal photography has started Monday, July 21st at 7.20 a.m. in New York, Bronx. During the first week the crew was staying at the Rizzo house in natural locations in City Island.

City Island set.

Andy Garcia plays the main role of the prison guard ,

whereas Julianna Margulies plays his wife Joyce ,

Dominik Garcia-Lorido is his daughter Viviane ,

Erza Miller is his son Vinnie Jr. ,

Emily Moltimer acts as his friend Molly ,

Steven Strait is his illegitimate son Tony Nardella,

and Allan Arkin is the acting teacher .

The director Ray De Felitta says that he is very happy with the cast which he managed to invite to his new project. For example the good sign to his good fortune is the fact that Julianna and Andy have worked together in the past - in a very good film called "The Man From Elysian Fields". So they're comfortable together. As underlines the director, there is not a bigger nightmare for a director when two people are supposed to be married or in love and the actors playing them don't particularly like each other, it's hard to separate the personal from the professional and there is always wondering if the performances are going to feel real or if the movie is getting screwed because of two fragile egos. Luckily in this movie there is a chemistry between the actors!

Moreover we are very anxious to see the duet of Andy and Dominik, the father and daughter in the movie and in real life!

Shooting of City Island will take place till the end of August 2008. We keep fingers crossed for the actors and the crew!

Gremi Film Production represented by Greg Hajdarowicz is the main co-producer of the movie with a share of 32 % in the film budget.

City Island is the first in cinema history example when a Polish co-producer does a movie with Hollywood stars. Gremi Film Production was established by Greg Hajdarowicz and as so far has co-produced Nightwatching by Petera Geenaway, Hania by two Oskar winner Janusz Kaminski and this autumn will be premiered shoot entirely in Brazil Carmo.

City Island is an example of the kind of movies that Gremi Film Production wants to do in the future – international project with good artistic values and awarded cast.

Short synopsis of City Island:

When prison guard and New York family man, VINCE RIZZO, sees a familiar name among the new convicts list, he realizes it belongs to a boy who he fathered twenty years earlier but abandoned. Now married with a new family, Vince takes his long-lost son, TONY NARDELLA, home with him - not telling his family who Tony really is.

This isn’t that unusual, as the Rizzo family is filled with secrets from each other - a condition that is straining Vince’s relationship with his wife, JOYCE, who believes that Vince is secretly having an affair while in fact he is secretly attending acting classes. His daughter, VIVIAN, is a college student, or so her family thinks. In fact, she is a stripper at a New Jersey nightclub, having been thrown out of school. And Vince’s youngest son, VINNIE JR., has hid his secret sexual fetish from everyone else, with the result that everyone thinks he’s gone off the deep end.

By bringing his long lost son, Tony, into the family, and by exploring a platonic extra-marital affair with a fellow acting student, MOLLY CHARLESWORTH (who has secrets of her own), Vince comes to realize that the only way to grow and truly understand love and intimacy is to face the lies he’s told about his past and bring his family and loved ones into his future.
